Graph Notebook Craft

May 29th, 2009 § 1

I’ve stated it before and I’ll say it again. I love graph paper. There is no logical reason. I just do.  So, when I received a graph paper composition book from Little Cat B for Mother’s Day and bought myself some Japanese Masking Tape for my birthday, I knew the two should meet.

That's graph paper hiding in there!

That's graph paper hiding in there!

grid-notebook-001First I took two 8.5×11″ full label sheets and stuck one to each side of the notebook.

grid-notebook-002Then I trimmed the label sheets down to the notebook size.

grid-notebook-003For the front, I printed out some random sized boxes onto another full label sheet and stuck to the front and trimmed again.  For the back, I stuck another plain white full label sheet on and trimmed. I used two label sheets for the front and two for the back to make sure the green pattern of the notebook didn’t show through.

grid-notebook-004Next I applied bits and pieces of the Japanese Masking Tape. Tada, the final product. The notebook on the left is Little Cat A’s and the one on the right is mine. Little Cat A decided some stamps would jazz hers up a bit. I just stamped mine with “Creative Notes”.

Really looking forward to using it. :

I love having pretty journals to keep my notes in. I might have to try this out. I’ve been wanting to get some of that cool masking tape. Thanks for sharing how you made this!
