Bakers Twine + Paper Scraps = Gift Tags

October 9th, 2009 § 6

My husband printed some wedding invites a while ago and had some “overs”. They were printed on fabulous feeling, very thick paper and had a fun design on them. I love when something can be upcycled!

Here are the supplies I used.

scrap paper, hole punch, black/white bakers twine, paper punch

Here's what the press sheet looked like after I had my way with it.

If you don’t have any one-sided scrap paper (say an image from a magazine) you could always run your scrap through a Xyron sticker maker, stick it on a solid piece of paper and then punch it with your paper punch.

Very cute! Glad the print sheet didn’t go to waste.

You and your sticker maker…. I don’t need a sticker maker but somehow you always make me want one. :-)

  2. Whitney says:

    Carly,
Oh, I have more than one of these sheets. Probably close to 30!
Get yourself a sticker maker. You can pick one up for around $8. I see sticky mustaches in your future!

Whitney these are so clever! I am TOTALLY into my scallop punches (like please keep me away from anything that you don’t want punched) and I think the use of the tape was totally inspired!!!

    Question!

Which printer did your husband use? I want to purchase one for printing onto thick card as my wonderful HP died a while ago, but all the printers I see seem to be focused on photo printing…

    Help.

  6. Whitney says:

    Hi Suan,
My husband had them printed at at commercial printer. But, I know that you can get 110# card stock through the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer. Hope this helps. :)
