This evening I received samples of what the final bakers twine will look like. Take a look.

I screamed/squealed with delight, happiness, relief, and joy when I opened the box. (I screamed/squealed so much my daughter asked me to go to another room if I was going to continue. No lie. Sheesh.) I love the colors! I love the twist! I love the feel! I love how the colors look great on their own or mixed and matched together! I’ve been working on this since April and this is the first time I’ve seen the finished product, so I think screaming/squealing was called for.
I’ve tried to be thoughtful and responsible to both customers and the earth in creating this twine. It’s 100% cotton so it’s bio-degradable. (In doing research I discovered the bakers twine that is currently on the market says 100% cotton on websites, but there is a label right on the spool that states poly/cotton.) It’s wound on cardboard spools that are also bio-degradable. It’s 4-ply so it’s nice and strong. The white is bright and clean so that the colors pop and it has a fresh, crisp look. There’s approx 250 yards on a spool (enough to have tons o’creative fun).
I can’t wait till the whole shipment arrives (hopefully mid-November). I feel like a little kid during the holidays when it seems like time has slowed down and Christmas will never come!

I also love Baker’s twine!! The cotton texture (along with the dual colors) evokes such a nostalgic, comfortable feeling.
