My friend and I talk on email all day while we are at work and on Monday we were talking about chocolate. I was raving about the Caramel Chunky Kit Kat I was eating, and she was moaning that she could never find them. So I popped into the newsagents by work on my way home and bought one for her that I gave her when she came round that evening.

  3. I am a middle school math teacher and finding it difficult to recoup my patience with the youngsters. A particular student gets teased often for a variety of reasons and is outcast for being different. I had an opportunity for a few select students to participate in school board showcase and chose him as well as three other students that are underappreciated by their peers. These four are now working together and I am seeing friendships and acceptance bloom! Yeah! It has revived my patience and reminds me that every day is a new day!

  5. Melissa says:

I gave up ten hours of my time this past weekend to help run a retreat for about 100 middle and high school teenagers. Nothing is more rewarding then helping the youth of our country grow!

  6. Megan says:

This past weekend I had a co-worker that lost a family member. So I organized to have everyone at work donate and we bought some flowers for her for the funeral service. She said they were really lovely and she was glad we were thinking of her and her family.

  7. jackie says:

I was asked to make a centerpiece for a friends 50th SURPRISE birthday party. This friend is a well known florist and the guy that was suppose to make this centerpiece back out. My friends daughter was in a tizzie and she asked if I would step in and make a centerpiece for her Mom……..so I did! I sure hope she likes it and it was my pleasure to help out this daughters frantic situation. You can never do to much for a friend in need………….

What a good question, really made me think. A couple of days ago I was invited for tea by a person I do not see very often. I decided to sew her an apron with her favorite colours and I think she enjoyed it very much. Greetings from Germany and I hope I win some twine! Love it.

  14. Melissa Carpenter says:

Tonight, I just so happened to drive by a sign for an available apartment and noticed it matched all the requirements a friend – of – a – friend needed. She is in a horrible relationship and not being able to find a reasonably priced place has been a setback for her release from bondage. I passed on the info to my friend and she passed it on to her friend. It is looking good so far. I see freedom in her future! :)

  15. Jackie says:

The plane that crashed into a house in East Palo Alto belonged to my coworker. They lost everything in the fire but everyone made it out okay. My team gathered gift cards and donations for her family.

I have Fridays off every week and there is a young girl who lives down the street, Zirikki, who usually walks to school. I now take her in the mornings since we leave at the same time. I now get up early on my Friday morning ‘sleep in’ days and take her to school…

  18. Susan says:

One of my soldier sons loves the pretzels dipped in the block of vanilla. So I got the ingredients together, made the pretzels and boxed them up to go to where he is stationed in the US. He loved them but knew he could not eat them all so he took them to the office to share with the guys. Look at that Two blessings from one thought! God is good!

  19. Susan says:

I went to visit my BFF of 32 years (4 hours away) instead of her always coming here, and ended up working on some crafty projects for her and for gift-giving instead of doing stuff I had brought along. Made me feel good, since I’m kind of fast at it, and she’s kind of slow. She felt good about it, which made me feel even better about it.

  21. Melinda Wharton says:

I’ve been helping a friend who’s been hospitalized with a blood clot. Have been watching her kids, offering to grocery shop for her, and visiting with her to cheer her up. Not much, but hopefully every little bit helps!

  22. marti says:

I finally mustered the courage to break up with my emotionally withholding boyfriend of two years. We hugged and cried, and said things that we’d never let ourselves say before.

It might have been the nicest thing I’ve done for myself, for both of us, all year.

I’m from Chile but i’ve being living in New Zealand for the last 2 years. My family and friends send me some info about a family who lost everything on the february 27th earthquake that shook my country.

My husband and I have been pretty busy and stressed lately so I went and bought a few things that I know he loves most (small things that didn’t cost too much) – cashews, red hots, nerds, and a few other goodies – just to cheer him up and to break the normal routine :)

One of my co-workers and I share the same birthday week. She has been admiring a pair of earrings that I made for quite some time, so for her birthday I made her a pair for her very own! I packaged them in a sweet little confection bag, and even used some baker’s twine to tie it all up!

I spent time with my niece and nephew so their parents (my bro and sis-in law) could spend a few hours with their new baby (7 days old – today). It’s so much fun to have a new little one running around but big brother and big sister needed some of their own one on one time. We all benefitted from the time spent together.

  39. Kara says:

I posted about this on my blog as well… Love your etsy shop- very cute stuff.

  40. Lisa says:

This is some nice giveaway! Thanks!

One good thing I did for someone is that yesterday we had to sleep at my mother´s house (me, husband and two girls) and I let my husband sleep in the “confy” bed and I took the sofa so he could sleep better. (beacause he worked all day and was “wasted”)

    Thanks!
