Pom Poms A-Go-Go!

May 28th, 2015 § 1 comment § permalink

Design Team member, Vanessa Spencer, agrees that Divine Twine makes the cutest pom poms. She made a few miniature ones and then added them to some plain Tags that can be used to tie onto gifts.

Making the mini pom poms is so easy with just a fork and some scissors. Start by winding the twine around a fork, quite a few times (but not too much because if they’re too bulky it won’t work as well). Keep one end free so that once you have finished winding the twine around the fork, you can tie the two ends together securely.

Once you have tied the two ends together, pull the pom pom off the fork and fluff it up and then trim the pom pom so that any pieces that are too long are snipped off. Embellish a few tags by spritzing them with some ink sprays. Then stamp some really simple designs onto each tag.

Tie the tags to wrapped gifts, gift bags or just about anything to add some whimsy!

Ombre Tag Art

May 5th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

Design Teamer, Shirley Karnos, creates a unique photo layout she calls Ombre Art. She starts with our basic (yet super versatile!) White Tags then, dips them in various colors of Rit dye to make dip-dyed ombre tags.  All were cut into triangles and pieced together to create a geometric heart layout. The lovely shades of pink, blue and lavender make a perfectly coordinated display. This could be the base to a card, a scrapbook page or a wall hanging to commemorate a special occasion.  She’s chosen a heart for her anniversary theme but other shapes would work as well. Let creativity be your guide!

Shirley, is currelntly working on a dip-dyed project using our white Little Bitty Bags. Stay tuned … that should be a fun one!

It ties in beautifully with the Divine Twine looped through the pink colored tag. Take a close look at the twine. It’s one of our newest colors–Rose Gold! It is truly fabulous and will be available in the shop this month! (We are thrilled to introduce this color along with our new Diva Collection. Stay tuned for more on that!) Flash Card Calendar File (and Sale!)

December 30th, 2014 § 2 comments § permalink

As we usher in the New Year, Guest Designer Vanessa Spencer of Hearth Handmade, has a fabulous idea for capturing the exciting memories you are about to create in 2015.  She uses our vintage Flashcard Calendar (Now 33% Off plus free shipping!), a wooden recipe box and her amazing creativity to make a monthly calendar journal.

She starts by stamping the date and year onto each of twelve kraft colored tabs using an old fashioned monthly roller stamp. Then, for each month, adds the monthly calendar flashcard, a few library cards, plus some plain white tags.

The rest is up to you! Journal on the library cards and white tags throughout the month, drop in photos that capture the moment, file away ticket stubs or other memorabilia. Such a simple project that will look great on your desk and be a keepsake for years to come!

Holiday Party Prep with Garland and Tags

December 26th, 2014 § 2 comments § permalink

The 2014 Holiday Party Season…

hasn’t wrapped up yet and Design Team Member Amy Cluck has a created some fun garland to add that “pop” around the bar and gift tags for that host or hostess gift utilizing our Bitty Bags and Packaging products for party flare.

Unique Garland!

Present Garland is made in silver and gold so that it works for New Year’s, but you could also make this for a birthday party.

Bitty Bags of Various colors & patterns (any size will work)
– Cardboard Jewelry Boxes (6 or more)
– Clear Tape
– Washi Tape
Divine Twine in coordinating color (Amy used both silver& gold)

How to: Cut the side and bottom of your Bitty Bag along the folded seam to create a flat sheet of paper. Gift wrap the jewelry boxes in various colors and patterns. Wrap Divine Twine around each wrapped box and tie in a bow on the front, like you would wrap a gift. Cut one piece of Divine Twine, as long as you’d like your garland to be (probably at least 2-3 feet). Now, evenly space your “gifts” and attach your twine to the top side of each gift with washi tape (attach to the top so they hang straight).

Fun with Tags!

Colored Tags + Washi Tape + Divine Twine to make gift tags that also look like mini presents to take to your next event. Add these to a gifts, hang on the tree, or attach to a Little Bitty Bag to create a festive gift card holder.
