Ombre Tag Art

May 5th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

Design Teamer, Shirley Karnos, creates a unique photo layout she calls Ombre Art. She starts with our basic (yet super versatile!) White Tags then, dips them in various colors of Rit dye to make dip-dyed ombre tags.  All were cut into triangles and pieced together to create a geometric heart layout. The lovely shades of pink, blue and lavender make a perfectly coordinated display. This could be the base to a card, a scrapbook page or a wall hanging to commemorate a special occasion.  She’s chosen a heart for her anniversary theme but other shapes would work as well. Let creativity be your guide!

Shirley, is currelntly working on a dip-dyed project using our white Little Bitty Bags. Stay tuned … that should be a fun one!

Just had to share this project sent in by, friend and former Design Team member, Jan Ely. She created this as a housewarming gift for someone who was moving into a new home. Made from a polka dot Middy Bag, cherry Divine Twine, two large Colored Tags and her own embellishments, Jan has fashioned a sweet wall hanging. What a lovely way to welcome someone home!

Colored Tag Photo Layout

May 23rd, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

Happy Friday! Guest Designer Megan Hoeppner has a beautiful layout to share with us this week. She’s chosen our Colored Tags to serve as the frames for her photos. Paints and crayons in the same hues as the tags create a monochromatic look for each photo display.

In keeping with this theme, lift each tag to find hidden journaling in a similar shade.  What a clever way to capture the moment with not only a photo but the story behind it.

For a supply list and step-by-step instructions to create your own colorful layout, please check out Megan’s blog.

Have a fabulous weekend!

Mother’s Day Gift Card Holder

May 10th, 2014 § 2 comments § permalink

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women out there! Today’s post, created by Guest Designer Megan Hoeppner, shows how she honored her mom this year. Be sure to check out her blog for a step by step tutorial cleverly coordinated with what she refers to as “Life Lessons a la Mom”.

Megan believes, that people love receiving gift cards, but there’s sometimes a negative connotation that giving gift cards is impersonal. Worry, no more. By creating a quick and completely personal gift card holder like this for your Mom, you’ve proven that you’ve definitely put your heart into your gift giving. And Mom will have both a keepsake and a fun shopping spree to enjoy!

Megan used a Kraft Polka Dot Bitty Bag for the envelope adding some bling with sequins and glitter, put the gift card in a gold sprayed white bag …

and attached the bag to the back of the “love you” Large White tag that she thoughtfully stitched in gold and strung with Gold Metallic Divine Twine.

A fun gift-card holder, just right for any mama’s heart of gold!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful moms out there! We hope your day shines!

Happy Friday! This week’s Guest Designer, Dawn Smith, is back with more graduation party ideas. These Place Card Easels are the finishing touch to your graduation table, and the best part… so simple to make! The Notebook and Grid Paper Little Bitty Bags are perfect for carrying out the school theme.  Dawn adds a classic black cap with tassel made from Metallic Silver and Metallic Gold Divine Twine. To add to the fun, she has slipped a white tag in the bags with pens available for the graduates to write a wish or dream for their future. The tags can be hung on a “Wishing Tree”. Place additional tags  near the tree for others to write their well-wishes for the graduates. What a great conversation piece for the party and a fun keepsake to enjoy for years past graduation!

Happy Friday! Shirley Carnos is back as this week’s Guest Designer with some beautiful Mini-Albums that are incredibly simple to make. Take a look at the supply list, only three items on each! And… a little secret, the Silver Bitty Bags she uses are now 30% off on our website! Plus, the bitty size makes them great for gift giving or commemorating a special event.

Matchbook Bitty Bag Mini Album

Made Matchbook style, Shirley uses a paisley pattern for a sophisticated look and Silver Polka Dot Little Bitty Bags to create her pages. Then, she inserts the eyelets and there you go, a mini-album. You can use the pages as your scrapbooking canvas and the pockets the bags create to insert photos, ticket stubs or other memorobilia.

Brown Paper Packages

April 11th, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

Is it Friday already?! It must have been a great week when you hear yourself saying that! Our Guest Designer this Friday is Lindsay Amrhein showing us her spin on a brown paper package tied up with string — or, more exactly, Divine Twine. She wraps Coral around this white on kraft Chevron Bitty Bag. You could also use a white Polka Dot or even white Striped Bitty Bag. Wouldn’t that be cute, too? A simple sentiment on the Sweet Sticky Label with several colorful, enamel dots and you have yourself a simply, perfect package!

Clever Cards and Envelopes

April 4th, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

Happy Friday everyone! This week’s guest designer is Shirley Karnos. She has created some fabulous cards that can be used for many occasions. I loved them all so I had to post all three!

Congrats Card

This crafty card showcases our Petite Stickys, both the Chick and Polka Dot. The chick sticker is suspended with some Divine Twine in the middle of the punched out circle. She used Solid Yellow but you could choose any one of our 37 shades. Change the sentiment and this same card becomes a Birthday, Thank You or Just Thinking about You card. Oh the possibilities…

Birthday Card

Shirley uses  the cupcake from the front page of our Simple Joys Calendar for this playful card. The Solid Blue Divine Twine sewn around the edges frames the artwork beautifully and a Glassine Bag makes the perfect envelope. The receiver gets a sneak peek before opening!

Little Bird Told Me Card and Envelope

You could call this a card or stationery – either way, call it cute! Again, Shirley uses her fun flair to craft an envelope from a Bitty Bag.  Having brown kraft as the canvass really makes the colors pop!
