S’more Summer Fun!

July 30th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

We’re pulling this post from the Whisker Graphics Archive, not only because it is an awesome summertime project but also because it is one of our most popular pins on Pinterest!  Thank you to former WG designer, Landee, for creating this scrumptious idea! She fills our Brown Kraft Middy Bags with all the fixings for s’mores. You decide exactly what that will include — chocolate, marshmallows, graham crackers, peanut butter cups, caramels etc. The combinations are endless! Tie up the bags with divine twine and her handy printable and you are ready for a party at the fire pit!

Perfect DIY Treat + Recipe Printable

December 5th, 2013 § 0 comments § permalink

What makes a DIY treat perfect? Well for me, it has to be made from easy-to-find ingredients, easy to make, quick to clean up and taste beyond delicious. This Toffee Chex Treat ticks all those boxes, plus it’s easy to share and it travels well (hello road trip).  To make myself feel better when I’m eating waaaay more than I should of this stuff, I remind myself that the cereal is vitamin fortified and therefore this is a nutritious treat. Yeah, right.

Chex Treats 2

Last year we made and packaged this candy-coated, addictive treat (no lie. this stuff is addictive. beware.) for our neighbors at the holidays.

Chex Treats 3

We used Middy and Bigger Bitty Bags, Colored Tags, Glassine Bags, and Divine Twine for the packaging. We lined the Bitty Bags with the Glassine Bags so the buttery goodness wouldn’t soak through.

Chex Treats 1

It was such a huge hit that I thought I’d share the recipe on handy recipe cards. Just download, print and cut. If you end up giving a batch away, you could attach a recipe card to your packaging. That way it’s a gift that keeps on giving.

Tip: I’ve substituted Crispix for Chex if that is what is on sale. Still turns out great!

Disclaimer: I did not invent this recipe. I got it off the internet a dozen or more years ago. It is called “School Fuel” on the Chex.com website. I renamed it Toffee Chex Treats because I think it describes it much better. The original recipe calls for chocolate to be drizzled over the treats, but I’m more of a purist and do not like chocolate interfering with my toffee taste. 🙂

Hi friends!  Today, I have a fun project from design team member Alicia Thelin to share with you.  Alicia made these awesome treat bags to display her yummy cookies!  What a fun way to say thank you!  This would also be great for party favors or classroom treats or a bake sale.  You can make these ahead and put them in the freezer until you are ready to give them away.  Wouldn’t that be a thing to keep on hand for any time you need a quick thank you?

Whisker Graphics Bake Sale Tags

Hi friends!  Today, I have a super cute idea from design team member Michelle Philippi to share with you.  Michelle made this adorable tag for a candy jar for her bake sale.  Isn’t this a darling way to show the price?  These tags would also be great to write a description of the items on as well.  You could tie one around the base of a cake plate, on a basket of goodies, or on different jars like shown here.

Cake Pop Packaging with Divine Twine

Hi friends!  Today, I have a super cute project from design team member Amy Cluck to share with you.  Amy made these adorable cake pops for a bake sale and packaged them up so sweetly.  You know what they say, you eat with your eyes first.  Amy used our Raspberry Divine Twine to top cinch these packages shut.  This kind of packaging would also be great for lollipops, cookies, or any kind of treat.  I’m pretty sure you can add at least an extra $.50 to the price of your treat if you package it up like this.  pink-lemonade-cake-pops-with-flags

Sugar Cookie Gift Tags

Hi friends!  I have such a fun post from design team member Amy Cluck to share with you today!  Amy came up with the fabulous idea of making sugar cookies into gift tags to add to your Christmas packaging.  Honestly, I can’t think of anything I would like to receive with a gift more than a cookie and she made them so cute!  Amy rolled the cookies, used a straw to cut out the hole to make it into a tag, baked, decorated, and then threaded some Divine Twine through the hole to make it into a tag.

Bitty Bag Father’s Day Gift

Hi friends!  Today, I have a brilliant project from design team member Kerstie Pederson to share with you.  With Father’s Day right around the corner, it’s always fun to get a fresh new idea for gifts.  Kerstie took one of our Middy Bitty Bags and sewed some columns into it.  Then she made some hand dipped pretzel rods and placed them in there.  What a DELIGHTFUL gift!  I don’t know if this would make it to my husband, I would want to keep it for myself!
