Pom Poms A-Go-Go!

May 28th, 2015 § 1 comment § permalink

Design Team member, Vanessa Spencer, agrees that Divine Twine makes the cutest pom poms. She made a few miniature ones and then added them to some plain Tags that can be used to tie onto gifts.

Making the mini pom poms is so easy with just a fork and some scissors. Start by winding the twine around a fork, quite a few times (but not too much because if they’re too bulky it won’t work as well). Keep one end free so that once you have finished winding the twine around the fork, you can tie the two ends together securely.

van3
Once you have tied the two ends together, pull the pom pom off the fork and fluff it up and then trim the pom pom so that any pieces that are too long are snipped off. Embellish a few tags by spritzing them with some ink sprays. Then stamp some really simple designs onto each tag.

Tie the tags to wrapped gifts, gift bags or just about anything to add some whimsy!

Glassine Goodness

May 15th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

This clever little number by Design Teamer, Amy Tsuruta, is a quick and easy way to wrap up your gift and your sentiment in one fell swoop. The Glassine Middy reveals a hint of the content, so choosing bright and colorful items to slip inside often works best. Plus, it makes coordinating the tag and twine a cinch. (Solid Teal shown here.) Amy uses some Project Life items giving her recipient and fellow scapper, enough to make a journal entry – fun! You could also give the makings for an Oolong Tea break to go with Amy’s tag line — a tea bag, packet of sugar and cookie or biscuit. Sweet and simple! Happy Earth Day!

Although Earth Day was technically yesterday, we here at whisker Graphics are celebrating all week with our earth friendly products. We also love to do our share by reducing, reusing and recycling crafting materials in our projects. In keeping with this, Design Teamer, Vanessa Spencer, uses a standard grocery store paper bag as her base by cutting down the seams of the bag and reusing the blank side to wrap her gift. For smaller jobs, you can also use a Brown Kraft Middy bag. The WG Little Bitty Bags replace the bow and the multiple colors of Divine Twine secure it to the box. The Little Bittys are the perfect size for a gift card or birthday note. She dresses up the package with some Happy Birthday washi tape and mini flags created using toothpicks and floral washi tape. What do you have in your craft box to add?

Vanessa uses:

Solid Color Divine Twine (shown here in Navy, Blue and White)
