Just had to share this project sent in by, friend and former Design Team member, Jan Ely. She created this as a housewarming gift for someone who was moving into a new home. Made from a polka dot Middy Bag, cherry Divine Twine, two large Colored Tags and her own embellishments, Jan has fashioned a sweet wall hanging. What a lovely way to welcome someone home!

Cookie Treat Bag with Coordinating Card

June 20th, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

Happy Friday, Happy Summer! Guest Designer, Jennifer Ferrell, helps us kick off the first official day of the season using fresh, summertime colors. Her Bitty Bag treat bag, lined with acetate, not only lets the scrumptious cookie show through, it also protects the bitty bag from grease stains that might otherwise appear. You could also use a moisture resistant Glassine Bag as a liner. They come in 2 sizes and are perfect for giving baked treats. I love how Jennifer uses the scroll punch in the Sweet Sticky to make a window, then perfectly coordinates the “To You from Me” card with the same punch – super clever, super cute!

Happy Friday! Guest Designer, Annette Allen, is back this week with a crafty card idea.  A Polka Dot Little Bitty Bag serves as the envelope for her angel topped tag. What an ideal place to include a gift card!  Although I love the fun yet polished look of green and gray, you could use whatever color combination floats your boat. Swap out the Divine Twine, dots and other embellishments and you have a whole new look.loved3

Here’s a quick and easy birthday card idea by our super cool Guest Designer, Megan Hoeppner. She created it for a special 2 year old, hence the whimsical use of color and markers. She sews Polka Dot Little Bitty Bags together creating a book the child can flip through page by page – genius, and so simple!

Happy Father’s Day Bitty Bag Card

June 6th, 2014 § 1 comment § permalink

May was the month to celebrate our moms. This month, it’s all about Dad. And, this Friday’s Guest Designer, Jennifer Ferrell, has the perfect project. She has created a handsome card and envelope set using a Horizontal Striped Middy Bag for both, trimming the one for the card so it fits in the envelope. Divine Twine in navy, red, blueberry, and air mail coordinate nicely with the paper stock and give it a masculine Father’s Day look. And my favorite part, the vintage Button and String closure!  What a lovely, personal touch, perfect for hand delivery. Change the sentiment on the tag and you have a 4th of July themed card or favor bag for next month. You know what they say… reduce, reuse, recycle! Happy Father’s Day to all the Dad’s out there!

Stitch the letter of your gift recipient with the Divine Twine color of your choice. Sure, it takes a little time, but aren’t the results fabulous? Use a little washi tape to give the finishing touch.

Mother’s Day Gift Card Holder

May 10th, 2014 § 2 comments § permalink

Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing women out there! Today’s post, created by Guest Designer Megan Hoeppner, shows how she honored her mom this year. Be sure to check out her blog for a step by step tutorial cleverly coordinated with what she refers to as “Life Lessons a la Mom”.

Megan believes, that people love receiving gift cards, but there’s sometimes a negative connotation that giving gift cards is impersonal. Worry, no more. By creating a quick and completely personal gift card holder like this for your Mom, you’ve proven that you’ve definitely put your heart into your gift giving. And Mom will have both a keepsake and a fun shopping spree to enjoy!

Megan used a Kraft Polka Dot Bitty Bag for the envelope adding some bling with sequins and glitter, put the gift card in a gold sprayed white bag …

and attached the bag to the back of the “love you” Large White tag that she thoughtfully stitched in gold and strung with Gold Metallic Divine Twine.

A fun gift-card holder, just right for any mama’s heart of gold!

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the beautiful moms out there! We hope your day shines!

Happy Friday! This week’s Guest Designer, Dawn Smith, is back with more graduation party ideas. These Place Card Easels are the finishing touch to your graduation table, and the best part… so simple to make! The Notebook and Grid Paper Little Bitty Bags are perfect for carrying out the school theme.  Dawn adds a classic black cap with tassel made from Metallic Silver and Metallic Gold Divine Twine. To add to the fun, she has slipped a white tag in the bags with pens available for the graduates to write a wish or dream for their future. The tags can be hung on a “Wishing Tree”. Place additional tags  near the tree for others to write their well-wishes for the graduates. What a great conversation piece for the party and a fun keepsake to enjoy for years past graduation!
