Are you having a Superbowl Party?

January 19th, 2016 § 0 comments § permalink

If you are getting ready to cheer on your favorite team in the Super Bowl, Dawn, our Design Team member from Not Just A Mommy, shares a couple of oh-so-easy football themed craft ideas.  The first is a referee shirt banner made from black horizontal stripe Middy Bitty Bags.  With the shirt template (available on her blog), trace along the long edge of the bag, then cut out.  The folded edge will drape nicely over your twine and not slide, no need for fasteners.

The second craft is creating footballs from circle punches, filling Kraft Brown Bags with your favorite snacks, then tying the footballs onto the bags with Palos Verdes Diva Solid Divine Twine.  Be sure and slip a Middy Glassine bag inside the kraft bag to prevent grease spots.

Glittery Glassine Gift Wrap

December 3rd, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

Ahh, glassine bags! They’re a Whisker Graphics favorite–so versatile, so lovely, so many possibilities. WG Designer, Tatiana Tortelly, heat embossed Middy Glassine Bags with gold embossing powder giving them a beautiful, custom look.

She colored the Garland and the Dove with markers and glued down some red gems to give the final touch. She also applied some Ice Stickles on the Dove to give it extra shimmer.

These designer bags can be filled with candy treats, small gifts, cards or even confetti. Whatever is enclosed shows through them. If you’d like to keep the contents under wraps, insert a Bitty Bag. It’ll conceal the contents yet reveal the pattern and color of the bag. Again, so many possibilities! Please be sure to check out Tatiana’s blog for a video tutorial on her heat embossing technique.

Here are some close-ups:

Glorious Glassine!

September 3rd, 2015 § 3 comments § permalink

This packaging is from WG designer, Tatiana Tortelly. She is new to the Design Team and also relatively new to blogging, but as you’ll soon see, she is no stranger to crafting! She has beautiful designs and is super enthusiastic. Welcome to the team, Tatiana!

This project is old-school Glassine. Don’t you just love the feel and even the crinkly sound of glassine? Or, is that just me 🙂 Glassine bags are perfect for giving baked treats because they  are moisture and grease resistant, so they keep food items fresh. Plus, the receiver gets a sneak peek at what’s inside. They are also excellent liners for our Middy and Bigger Bitty Bags if you want to keep the contents under wraps — literally!

Shown here, Tatiana takes permanent black ink (so the color doesn’t run) and stamps away! Simple technique with custom results. The Divine Twine, shown here in Holiday, provides that perfect pop of color. With so may colors from which to choose, your packaging options are endless!

Change the sentiment, change the twine and/or change the contents and you have a whole new gift!

For a complete supply list and tutorial, please see Tatiana’s blog. Have fun making this one your own!

Glassine Goodness

May 15th, 2015 § 0 comments § permalink

This clever little number by Design Teamer, Amy Tsuruta, is a quick and easy way to wrap up your gift and your sentiment in one fell swoop. The Glassine Middy reveals a hint of the content, so choosing bright and colorful items to slip inside often works best. Plus, it makes coordinating the tag and twine a cinch. (Solid Teal shown here.) Amy uses some Project Life items giving her recipient and fellow scapper, enough to make a journal entry – fun! You could also give the makings for an Oolong Tea break to go with Amy’s tag line — a tea bag, packet of sugar and cookie or biscuit. Sweet and simple!
