Customer Share ~ Lindsay Letters

Lindsay Sherbondy has a talent I wish I had. She has the amazing ability to make letters B.E.A.U-tiful. That’s right Lindsay is a calligrapher and the driving force behind Lindsay Letters. Her style is swoon worthy. Take a look at these invitations she did for Jones Design Company.

And these invitations, menu cards and napkin rings she did for author Shauna Niequist‘s dinner party are stunning.

Seriously. If I had her talent, everything in my house would be labeled beautifully, my snail mail correspondence would be sent with glee and I’m pretty sure there would be writing on my walls, pillows, shower curtain, dishes.

Thanks for sharing, Lindsay!

Polly of Folly & Glee got creative and used some Cotton Candy Divine Twine to customize a lampshade for her etsy shop. I love the petite bunting she made. I so enjoy seeing what creative people come up with! Thanks for sharing Polly!

Anthropologie Birthday Card

A friend of mine received a birthday card from Anthropologie. Check it out. There are so many things to love about this card/gift/treat. The sweet “label” printed in pink on the cream colored envelope, the cupcake art made from pinholes, the 3-D candle which is really a necklace(!) and the 15% savings off a purchase in September. Nice.

Maker Faire 2010 – The Year of Felting

May 26th, 2010 § 3 comments § permalink

On Saturday my family and I went to Maker Faire in San Mateo. This is our third time going and each visit is a different experience. This year I was excited to meet some web friends in person. It was such a pleasure to meet Danni of Oh Hello Friend and Patti of The Tinted Mint. I made a point to see the ever-crafty Cathe Holden of Just Something I Made demo-ing how to turn vintage books into your own custom notebook. She did a great job! She’s doing a Give Away on her blog until May 28th for 2 of the notebooks she created. Click HERE to enter.

This year at the show my daughter and I discovered needle felting. Nifer Fahrion of NifNaks was beyond nice and patient and gave us a 15 minute demo on how to needle felt. Then we came across Moxie of HiFiberKits who had a cool velvet couch and a bunch of chairs around a coffee table piled with wool. You could sit for as long as you like and needle felt to your heart’s content. So we did. We both love it! We bought a starter kit from NifNaks and my daughter spent the evening at home making all sorts of little fuzzy friends.

First calligraphy attempts

First calligraphy attempts

I bought myself a treat.

A calligraphy set.

I bought this one from Emilie Friday’s etsy shop because the ever-in-the-know Miss B at Le Blahg raved about it. She was spot on to rave.

Last night I finally played with it. It’s fun! I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted the letters to look like. Let’s just say, my practice sheets shown above are not quite what I envisioned. It’s harder than it looks! Hoping to incorporate some pretty swirly-ness into future designs. We’ll see…

Where Am I?
