We’re excited to have our first guest blogger, Carly Robertson from Paper In Bloom.  She created fabulous paper garlands using Divine Twine that she recently featured at her twin daughters’ birthday party.  Welcome Carly!

Paper Garland Project by Carly Robertson
This is a super easy and fun paper garland project. First, you’ll need to gather your supplies. You’ll need 3 different sizes of circle punches, pattern paper, coloured bakers twine and glue.
Next, punch out plenty of different sized circle shapes from the pattern paper and sort in groups of small, medium and large.
Then glue two same sized circle punched shapes together with the coloured bakers twine in between them. Repeat until you have the garland length desired.
Lastly, hang your garland and you’re done! How easy is that!

Thank you SO much for the wonderful tutorial, Carly!  Your garlands would add a festive touch to any gathering!

Chevron Bitty Bag Packaging

June 15th, 2011 § 1 comments

Megan, a lovely customer, recently ordered  Yellow Chevron Bitty Bags, Grape Address Labels and Cotton Candy Pink bakers twine. I don’t know exactly how she’s putting everything together, but I went ahead and tried a few things. It’s the first time I’ve tried the oval labels on the smaller bags. I really like how the label wraps just a little bit around the bag sides and changes the shape a tad. I tried folding the bag flap to the front and to the back. I prefer folded to the back just a tiny bit better, but really, I like them both.

I wouldn’t mind trying Chocolate Covered Wine Grapes!

Belinda, the creative mind behind Max, Toto and Busy B and one of our wonderful customers, emailed to share some projects she made with Airmail Divine Twine. Though she made several projects (see her etsy shop) our favorite is this sweet wedding banner. Well done, Belinda and thanks for sharing!

Bitty Bags as Packaging

June 10th, 2011 § 2 comments

We have the all-time nicest and most creative customers. Donna ordered some Chick Address Labels and instead of her address she had us typeset her business information (so clever!). I envisioned her packaging her card orders with them, so I went ahead and had some fun with a couple Bitty Bags and some bakers twine to see what I could come up with.

Though I love playing with the supplies and putting things together, I’d REALLY like to see what other people are doing. Feel free to shoot me an email with photos of your project(s) using Whisker Graphics products.

Divine Bakers Twine kNots

May 31st, 2011 § 0 comments

We just stocked the shop with quite a few Divine Twine kNots (especially in Brown Sugar). What are kNots you ask? kNots are spools of our bakers twine that did not quite make the cut in terms of presentation or size. Are they perfect? Well, no. They may be scuffed or wound a wonky or be on the small size, but there is still plenty of high quality bakers twine on each spools (at least 200 yards). They are priced at $10 each (a 33% savings) and they sell out fast so hurry on over to the shop of you’re interested.

Holiday Cookies for the Neighbors

December 22nd, 2010 § 2 comments

Each year my husband bakes a trillion (give or take a few) cookies to give to the neighbors. I’m in charge of packaging them and the kids are our delivery service. This year we went with a Special Delivery theme.

Filling up the boxes

I bought take-out boxes from Smart and Final and put each variety of cookie in white cupcake liners.

I cut a piece of parchment paper and tied it with Divine Twine.

(World's Worst photo)

Then I wrapped the box with Air Mail Divine Twine and changed the blue on my free Printable Gift Tags to coordinate with the twine. Took the world’s worst picture and they were ready to deliver.

Here are our 2008 cookies and 2009 cookies if you’re interested. (Looking back on these posts I realize there is competition for the world’s worst photo. The sad news is, either way I win.)

Divine Baker’s Twine Cupcakes by Jan Ely

December 17th, 2010 § 8 comments

Jan Ely has struck again and Oh My! she has blown me away with her creativity. Check out these cupcakes she made using Divine Twine as her inspiration.

She covered a styrofoam ball with Cotton Candy Divine Twine and topped it with silver bugle beads and a wooden cherry.

This one she made from Orange Divine Twine and topped with orange paper circles (from a hole punch), white glitter and a sparkly orange sphere from her craft stash.

Green Apple Divine Twine wrapped and glued around a styrofoam ball and topped with brown paper circles and a “candle” made from a wooden dowel. I love how she used one strand from the twine to make the wick. So clever!

She even made a cupcake stand from thrift store finds: A clear glass candlestick, a small white dish and a clear glass tumbler with a glass knob glued on top.

Amazing, right?!

Thanks for sharing Jan!!

Customer Share ~ Tanya of Snap & Tumble

December 13th, 2010 § 0 comments

Tanya Roberts of Snap and Tumble let me know how she’s using her Divine Twine. I must say I think it’s a match made in heaven. Letterpress and Divine Twine. Yum!  I adore letterpress items. There’s something so satisfying in touching the indentations the press makes on the super thick cotton paper. (I have a fantasy of one day learning how to create letterpress goodies.) Take a look at Tanya’s creations and visit her blog to learn more about letterpress. Thanks for sharing Tanya!
