The day that seemed like it would never come, has finally arrived. I practically sprinted out to meet the delivery truck. The four new Divine Twine colors are in stock; Blueberry, Air Mail, Brown Sugar and Plum. Thank you to everyone who left a nice comment or signed up to be notified. It’s hard to believe what started with 5 colors a little over a year ago has grown to 12 color family. Knock me over with a feather. No lie.

Here’s a little teaser. I’m working on a new product I hope to have in the shop in January. No, it’s not more twine. Stay tuned…

A sugar dispenser is a sweet way to keep your Divine Twine in sight and ready to use. With the flap dispenser and dimensions of the container, it’s like they were made for each other. (Divine Twine spool measures approx 4″ tall x 2″ diameter.)

Suzonne Sterling is a professional crafter and all around wonderful person. You may remember how she used Divine Twine in some greeting cards she created. Check out the holiday ornaments she made with felt (my favorite fabric to work with) and Divine Twine.

Jan Ely strikes again! Check out this miniature bottle brush tree she decorated with Divine Twine candy canes and popcorn garland. It makes me smile each time I look at it. The “how-to” is after the photos.

Here’s how she made the candy canes;
Supplies:
Cherry Divine Twine
White Glue
Wax Paper
Skewer or tiny dowel

Cut the twine in 1″ pieces. Coat with white glue. Lay on wax paper. Using the blunt end of the skewer bend one end of the piece in a u-turn shape to create the top of the candy cane. Let dry 10 minutes or so. Place skewer across two cups/cans/jars to create a horizontal pole. Hang the candy canes from the skewer to dry. The candy canes are pliable at this point and you may want to tweak the shape a bit if needed before they totally dry. After they are completely dry (about an hour), trim the frayed ends with scissors.

Supplies:
Lemon Divine Twine

Working off the twine spool, tie a knot every 1/8″ – 1/4″ until you have the length you want. This is one of those projects that is perfect to do while watching TV or a movie.

Jan Ely is really more than a customer, she’s my pal and co-worker. We first met years ago at Room with a Past and now she’s working with me at Whisker Graphics. Jan used Divine Twine in a way I hadn’t thought of before and it’s brilliant! She made art by wrapping the twine around twigs, wire and paper.  I really like how the twine creates different looking textures depending on how it’s wrapped. Check it out.

Another color will soon join the Divine Twine family ~ Plum. This shade of purple lands somewhere between grape and eggplant, but a little softer. It should be available by the end of the year. I’m happy to introduce another new Divine Twine color coming soon, Brown Sugar. The color is a yummy medium brown like milk chocolate and looks great with kraft paper. I’m delighted to introduce ONE of the new colors of Divine Twine coming soon. It’s called Air Mail and I just love it! It is a petite stripe of red, white and blue and though it’s called Air Mail (because it reminds me of the stripes on air mail envelopes) it would add the perfect patriotic touch (hello Fourth of July!). It’s amazing how many country flags are red, white and blue.

I must give credit where credit is due. This color combo is the brain child of Janice from Papier Valise. A woman who know a thing or ten about cute, beautiful and inspiring visual delights. If you’ve never visited her on-line shop, you are missing out.

My daughter is crafty (in a good way). The other day she had and idea for transforming a plain white plastic headband. She used a flower we had left over from this post and some Aqua Divine Twine. She secured the ends with scotch tape (I think glue would be better long-term) and attached the flower with wire. I think it turned out pretty cool.
