Packaging Fun

March 29th, 2010 § 2 comments

I sent a little package to a friend. I used a white sandwich bag with some Lemon and Oyster Divine Twine and my mad calligraphy skills (ha!) on  a couple of hang tags.

Red and White Divine Bakers Twine

March 27th, 2010 § 6 comments

The last new Divine Twine color coming in a couple of months is red and white. It will be known as Cherry. I know there’s other red and white bakers twine on the market, but I get frequent requests for it so it seemed logical to add it to the line. The red is a little deeper and the white is definitely more white compared to other bakers twine (though it’s hard to tell in my photos that have a blue cast to them!).

I think it looks great with Green Apple for the holidays, Aqua for July 4th, Cotton Candy for Valentine’s and Oyster just because.

Here are a couple of photos of the second new color of Divine Twine that should be available by mid-June at the latest. Gray and white bakers twine which will be called Oyster when it makes its debut. I love this color. It’s soft and sophisticated, well as sophisticated as bakers twine can get.  It looks so pretty paired with the Lemon, Cotton Candy (pink) or Orange twine.

Pink and White Bakers Twine ~ How Divine!

March 22nd, 2010 § 20 comments

I received samples of the new Divine Twine colors. Yea! Since it takes me forever to take photos, I’ll have to share the 3 new colors one at a time with you. Up first, pink and white bakers twine or as it will be known when it makes its debut, Cotton Candy. Pink and white bakers twine is the second most requested color I receive, after red and white. I worked really hard to create a pink that would contrast well against the white, but still have a soft, sweet look. I’m really excited (and relieved!) how it turned out. It should be available for sale by mid-June at the latest (I hope!).

Divine Twine in a Wedding Invitation

February 28th, 2010 § 3 comments

Jenna, a Divine Twine customer, let me know her wedding invitations were featured on Orange Girl’s blog and I’m so glad she did! Not only did I discover Kirstie Tweed’s mad photography skills and her beautiful website, but take a look at these amazing invitations. I love how Jenna made them extra personal by using materials that she loves + having the recipient’s name on the tag.

Fun with Divine Twine and Washi Tape

February 23rd, 2010 § 13 comments

A couple of weeks ago my sister-in-law helped me clean out my kitchen cabinets. I saved an old spice tin because I loved the size.

spice-tin-makeover-suppliesI gathered my supplies: tin, Japanese washi tape (have I mentioned I love this stuff?), some Divine Twine (I love this stuff too) and a portion of a full sheet label.

Valentine Garland FREE Printable

January 28th, 2010 § 34 comments

valentine-garland-super-close-upEverywhere I look there seems to be garlands. Whether they are made from triangles of sweet fabric or stickers and tape attached to twine, I swoon over them all. I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate a garland (or five) into my life. Valentine’s Day is the perfect excuse. Here’s what I made for the peeps in my family. If these tickle your fancy, feel free to make some for your valentines. See download link at the end of this post.

valentine-garland-curvedThere are 5 Valentine messages + some extra hearts.

valentine-garland-mirrorI plan to hang them around the house with Japanese Masking Tape in places like the back of a chair, the bathroom mirror, the shower door, closet doors, the front of the frig and for an extra surprise, on my husband’s steering wheel (or maybe his windshield) so he’ll find one when he leaves for work.

I tried to make the Printable as easy to use as possible. All the tiles butt up to each other to reduce the number of cuts and there are tiny dots to indicate where to punch the holes (I used 1/16″ hole punch, but you could use a larger size). Thread with Divine Twine, string, thin ribbon or embroidery floss. Enjoy!

It’s been two months since the Divine Twine shop opened. A big, heartfelt THANK YOU!! to everyone who has bought some twine! I thought it would be fun to see how people are using their Divine Twine so I started a Divine Twine Group on Flickr.  Click here to visit.

So far I’m the only member, but I hope over time others will add photos of their creations to the group’s pool.
