What is a Printable?
Glad you asked! A Printable is an electronic file in PDF format that allows you to print our designs at your convenience. Print when you want and how many you want. Again and again.
What do you mean by "editable" or "semi-customizable"?
This is where you get to unleash your creativity. You can enter and format your own text right in the Printable. That means you can change the font, font size, font color, and font alignment to create a wide variety of looks all from the same Printable. Please keep in mind you can't change the color(s), size or position of the design graphics in the file.
Can I add graphics or jpegs to the Printables?
The Printables can accommodate text (fonts) only not jpegs or TIFFs etc. You can use fonts that contain images (like dingbats) to insert an image.

Genius? No. But it's helpful if you have a little computer experience under your belt. You'll need to be familiar with opening a file, selecting fonts and font styles and printing.
What fonts can I use?
You can use any font you have installed on your computer including fonts that contain images or icons (like flowers or animals). You can also use multiple fonts in the same text box.

In Adobe Reader 8 and 9 please use this path: View menu > Toolbars > Properties Toolbar
In Adobe Reader 10 and above use this path: View menu > Show/Hide > Toolbar Items > Properties Toolbar
Can I save my information?
Due to the nature of the files, you will not be able to save the Printable with your entered information. For that reason, we suggest you print out some extras before closing the file. You can also create and format your text in MS Word (save the file for future use) and copy/paste into the Printable.
Do I have to format my text in every text box again and again?
In the Amazing 3" Squares all text boxes (6) are independent of each other. If you want the same info in all the boxes, format your text in one text box and copy/paste into the remaining text boxes.
In the Amazing 2" Squares, text boxes are set up to auto-fill by row. Format your text in one box, click outside the box and the remaining squares in that row will fill in with the same formatted information. Need all 20 squares with the same info? No problem. Just format your text in one box then copyp/paste it into the first box in each row.
In our Printable Stationery sets, the whole page of return address labels fills in automatically after you enter your text in one label and then click in another label.

What paper should I use?
All the Printables are created to print on 8.5 x 11" sheets unless otherwise noted. We like to use 80lb or heavier white card stock for cards, tags, recipe cards and mini file folders, but really you can print on any paper you like. Keep in mind that if you print on colored paper it will alter the appearance of the colors in the Printable.
What labels should I use?
If you want to make labels from the Printables, you'll need 8.5 x 11" full sheet labels. Basically one, big 8.5 x 11" label. They can easily be found at office supply stores or on the web (search "full sheet labels").
Will the Printables work on pre-cut labels?
We hate to disappoint, but no. Each printer feeds paper/label sheets differently which can cause a lot of frustration when trying to line up images on pre-cut labels. To ensure the best results, we've created our Printables to print on full sheet labels only. There are clearly marked trim lines to show you where to cut.
Will the Printable work on a Mac?
The Printables should work just fine on a Mac. The default PDF viewer on a Mac is called Preview. So if you're working on a Mac, make sure you open the Printable in Adobe Reader 8 or newer.
Can I share with my friends and family?
When you purchase a Printable from us, you are buying a 1-person personal (non-commercial) license to use the Printable. So, feel free to create as many items as you like (stationery, recipe cards and gift tags make great gifts!) and print as many times as you like to share what you/ve made with your family and friends, but the file is only for the purchaser.
Is there a limit to how many times I can print a Printable?
The skys the limit! Make cards for friends and family, bookplates for teachers or recipe cards for everyone at the potluck. The file is yours to print forever.
Can I add pages to the Recipe Card Printables file?
The Printables are designed to produce physical paper goods, not as an electronic management system. Therefore, you will not be able to add pages to any of the Printable files.
